About the project
‘Trauma’ seems to be a despondent topic to discuss. However, an investigation into it reveals that it is not an unpleasant event, but significantly adds value to our personal growth. In this project, ‘trauma’ is re-defined as ‘any negative experiences which brought you a new perspective on life’. It is believed that every ‘trauma’ has a meaning to our life and we can learn from it. “Dialogue of Souls” is a story sharing and exchange project consisting of illustration and experience. Participants are invited to share their story of ‘trauma’. Their real-life experiences are illustrated customarily with responses communicating new ideas and perspectives towards their experience. The illustration will be printed and sent back to the story-tellers as a response. Meanwhile, exhibitions are organized to invite the public to explore ‘trauma’ by reviewing the process of collecting stories, illustrations and others’ responses towards the unpleasant moments of the story-tellers.
